Mood Cast (hereinafter referred to as the 'App') establishes and discloses the following privacy policy in order to protect the user's personal information and to handle grievances smoothly.
This policy takes effect on June 13, 2026.
1. Items of Personal Information Collected and Method of Collection
A. Device Locally Stored Data (Diary & Emotional Weather Data)
- Collected Items: Diary text, emotional state (weather icons), date information, and theme/background settings written by the user.
- Collection Method and Storage Location: This app can be used without registration. The written diary entries and emotional weather information are only stored locally on the user's device. They are never sent to or collected by the developer or any external server.
B. Service Usage Logs and Analytical Data (Automated Collection)
This App uses Google Firebase, a third-party analysis tool, for service improvement and error analysis. In this process, non-identifiable information that cannot identify individuals may be automatically collected.
- Collected Items: Device specifications, operating system (OS) version, app usage time, specific screen navigation information, and app crash logs.
- Collection Tools:
- Google Analytics for Firebase: For analyzing app usage patterns and improving services.
- Firebase Crashlytics: For debugging critical errors and app crashes.
- Collection Method: Automatically collected during app execution and transmitted to Google Firebase servers.
2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information
The App uses the collected information only for the following purposes:
- Providing App Features: To allow users to write, edit, delete, and view diaries on their device in calendar or list views.
- Improving Service Stability: To analyze the cause of app bugs and unexpected crashes in order to release updates and patches.
- Service and UX Improvement: To analyze user flow and screen usage in order to enhance the overall user experience.
3. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information
- Device Locally Stored Data: Retained permanently on the user's device until the user deletes the app (data is permanently removed upon deletion) or resets app storage data.
- Firebase Analysis & Log Data: Retained and destroyed in compliance with Google Firebase policies (generally up to 14 months for non-identifiable event logs or as determined by Google policies).
4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties & Consignment
In principle, the App does not provide the personal information of users to external parties. However, for efficient service log analysis and error tracking, analytical work is consigned as follows:

5. Rights of Users and How to Exercise Them
- Users can reject the collection of personal information and storage of local data at any time by deleting the app. (Please note that all local diary data will be permanently lost upon deleting the app.)
- To block sending non-personally identifiable logs to Google Analytics and Crashlytics, you can disable network connections or block sharing device advertising identifiers in your device settings.
